ABCD Antibodies, recombinant antibodies from researchers to researchers:

ABCD Antibodies is a spin-off company of the University of Geneva.

Our story begins with the creation of the Geneva Antibody Facility (GAF) in 2004 by researchers from the  University of Geneva, in an effort to provide the research community with easy, affordable access to well-characterized recombinant antibodies. From this effort also came the ABCD Database. The ABCD Database (AntiBodies Chemically Defined) database is a manually curated depository of sequenced antibodies developed by the GAF and the University of Geneva, hosted on the servers of the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics. This project also includes the creation of Antibody reports. This scientific journal publishes technical articles on antibody characterization.

The growing number of fellow researchers asking for recombinant antibodies (either developed by the GAF, or available at the ABCD Database) led to the creation of ABCD Antibodies in 2022. Our mission is to ensure the commercial distribution of recombinant antibodies and promote the widespread use of these superior products in the scientific community and, ultimately, the replacement of animal-produced antibodies.
